Majid Michel To Guest Star On Tinsel
Ghanaian leading man
Majid Michel will be joining the star-studded Tinsel cast from Tuesday February
19.
He will be playing himself in the dramatic soapie that is broadcast (Monday to Thursday) at 6pm on Viasat1.
Asked why he took on a Tinsel guest role, Majid’s answer is both emotional and practical.
“A long time ago, I realized that my acting is not only about myself, it’s an extension of many things that I hope for in our industry. So I made up my mind to extend myself to film projects that improve our movie making prospects within the continent. I believe that this can also inspire young actors coming behind me.
"Tinsel is a typical reflection of that, after all, its’ one of the most successful soaps out of Nigeria.”
Majid has completed filming his scenes for the soap, so don't forget to tune to Viasat1 at 6pm from Monday to Thursday or 11am on Sundays for the omnibus.

Rapper Edem To Outdoor Two New Singles Today
All is set for multi-award winning rapper Edem to
release two new singles today, February 13.
The two ditties are ‘Give It To Me’ and ‘Odee’ which
features both Dutch Rapper on the former and Trigmatic and X.O. Senavoe on the
latter.
‘Give It To Me’ which was produced by
Genius Selection whiles. He song ‘Odee’ is a blend of the Ewe, Ga and English
languages from Edem, Trigmatic and X.O Senavoe.
The Volta Regime (VRMA) act who is very sound very happy prior to the
release of the songs has since took to social networking site twitter to
announce his joy at Trigmatic and X.O. Senavoe’s feature on the song ‘Odee.’

2013 Ghana Music Awards Launch On February 23
All is set for the launch of the 2013 Ghana Music
Awards on Saturday, February 23, Charterhouse have announced.
This year’s event will be the 14th edition
since its inception.
In a report by the Executive Director of
Charterhouse Ghana, she acknowledge the underground work of the board ahead of
this year’s grand event.
“The Board has been
in place since January 2013 and has been working on shortlisting,
categorizing and verifying the various entries. It’s been a very challenging
process and gives us a fair idea of how the industry has fared over the past
year, the emerging trends in the music industry and so on,” Theresa
Ayoade,
Executive Director of Charterhouse says.
In September 2011, Charterhouse Ghana officially
announced that Vodafone Ghana has sealed an exclusive right as the headline
sponsors of the newly Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs).

BREAKING: Kim Kardashian Confirms Nigeria Trip On February 17
Kim Kardashian has
confirmed that she will be in Nigeria next week to co-host a concert following
reports by Nigeria Entertainment Today
that she will be in the West African nation.
The 32-year-old
took to social media site twitter on Tuesday night and announced this to her
over 17 million fans following her on the site.
“HI NIGERIA! I'M
COMING TO JOIN @DAREY FOR NIGERIA’S BIGGEST LOVE CONCERT #LLAM ON FEB 17TH AT EKO HOTEL. SEE YOU SOON!!!,” she
tweeted.
She will be
serving as a special guest when she co-host the “Love Like A Movie” Concert
with R&B singer Darey on Sunday, February 17.
The concert, which
will take place at the Convention Centre of the Eko Hotel and Suites in
Lagos, will also feature Nigerian superstars such as 2face Idibia, Flavour, Ice Prince and Iyanya.

DJ Black’s Cypher Season 2 Starts This Saturday On Viasat 1
The Season 2 of DJ Black’s Cypher will start showing
this Saturday, February 16 on Viasat 1.
This season’s event which will last for seven (7)
weeks and kicks off with rap freestyles from emcees likes C-Real, A.S.E.M., J
Town and Felly will air at 2pm each day.
The DJ Black Cypher is a platform for both
up-and-coming and celebrated rappers to showcase their talent by rapping on beats
produced especially by DJ Black, Coptic, and other music producers in the
country.
Last season’s cipher saw the likes of Kwaw Kese,
Stay Jay, Yaa Pono, Eazzy, Jupiter, Eno and Ghana’s fastest rapper Sarkodie all
spitting fire on the MIC.
This year’s show is expected to be even more

Nana Ama McBrown Discharged From Hospital
GlitzGhana can confirm that actress
Nana Ama McBrown has been discharged from hospital after nearly a fortnight.
She was discharged on Monday night following her admission at the 37
Military Hospital nearly a fortnight ago.
Reliable sources reveal the actress who was involved in a motor accident during
the early hours of Wednesday, January 30 at the Lapaz end of the George Walker
Bush N1 Highway is now peacefully at home.
In an interview with Peacefmonline while on admission at the hospital she showed gratitude to God for her
safety. "I can never thanking Almighty God for saving our lives...it's a
miracle we are still alive. I thank all who spend time praying for me, all my
friends, colleagues, and family members who have spent time to visit me here.
During her admission at the health centre many of his celebrity friends
and fans paid her visits and wished her speedy recovery. Some of them include
Joselyn Dumas, Lydia Forson, Efya among others.

continent is ready for the live performance of Nigerian Afro-pop star D’Banj
when this year’s competition closes.
He will be performing
his song ‘Top Of The World’ before the grand finale between his country of
birth Nigeria and Burkina Faso at the Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg,

most-anticipated reality show, Spirited Actor, will finally make its debut on
screen today at 8pm today, 10 February 2013 at 8pm on Viasat1.

Editorial: Marriage Must Not Be Underrated
Marriage is a union between a Man and a Woman
to live together as Husband and Wife and bring forth Children, thus building a
Family.
Most Christian Teachings and Islamic Teachings
make us well informed about marriage, and tell us how important this union is
and thus should be encouraged.
Traditionally each individual regardless of
where he or she is coming from is made aware of marriage as an institution and
its importance in every one’s life.
Gone are the days when marriage was so
important to the Youth. In those days, a young woman stay chaste until her
suitor comes to ask for her Hand from her Parents. As a result, most youth got
married beautifully and thereby creating a suitable and comfortable environment
for their unborn children.
Undoubtedly, there are so many benefits derived
from having a family, thus having babies under marriage and giving them a
respectable future full of good home training unlike single parenting.
The Security, Care and much Attention which
will be given to the children by both parents unlike when you are a single
parent is what makes marriage so essential.
It is mind-boggling to know that, gone are days
when Virgins were cherished and highly respected. These days things have
changed, virgins are considered morons and inexperience for marriage.
It is however not surprising that even the few
matured virgins in the system now are shy to open
up or proudly say they are virgins because of
the fear that they may be mocked with the branded name ‘KOLO’, yet these same
people who normally make such mockery statements always wish to be virgins, is
it not funny?
IF VIRGINITY IS A LACK
OF OPPORTUNITY, WHY WOULD YOU WISH TO BE ONE?
Referring to some instances, I recall one
incident on one of the social networks when in a conversation a girl said ‘she
was proud to be a virgin’ and in response a guy sitting beside her laughed and
said “but you paa, whiles others are enjoying themselves by having sex,
you are abstaining and you are not even ashamed.’’ So the question is,
since when did ‘PURITY’ became a shameful thing? It is such a pity to
hear a young guy boast about fornication.
It is very obvious some of these reactions are
the reasons why young girls of today do not seem to see the importance of
staying chaste till marriage.
Relationships now in my opinion are indirect
marriages. Most young unmarried men and women even have sex many times in a
week, month and some instances even worst.
Honestly, youth of today do not seem to see the
significance of marriage. Fornicating rate keep rising and it’s getting out
of hand. Abortion rate keep spiraling with most of the females being
teenagers. So many factors contribute to these changes in our society but who
can you blame?
When you watch television commercials, all you
see lately is condom adverts and not even one instance when you will see
abstinence advert.
But come to think of it, promoting of condom is
of great importance considering the kind of environment we find ourselves
in now.
Is it not about time the Media do something to
also encourage those unmarried people who are abstaining from sex until they
find suitors? Or what do you think?
In order to have a save and sound environment,
I suggest that we rather have adverts that promote the use of condoms and
abstinence, coupled with more education should be made available to the youth
not only on television but on radio, in magazines and even in our homes.
It all bounces back to the questions
surrounding marriage being underrated.
IS SOCIETY NOT DOING IT
BEST? WHO IS TO BE BLAMED NOW? IS IT THE MASS MEDIA, PARENTS OR THE YOUTH
THEMSELVES?
Whiles shifting blames, I want you to put at
the back of your mind that each and every one of us has it as a duty to look
after our own selves better. Learn to make decisions on your own without
allowing your decision to be influence by others.
After all, it is your life and your own
choices.
