This year’s KORA Awards have been postponed from its initial
date of Saturday, December 29 to Sunday, December 30 due to flight problems
involving R&B and Hip-hop star Chris Brown.
Organizers admit the “With You” man missed his
flight to Cote D’Ivoire's to perform at the 17H Stade FHB where the event will be hosted.
Spokesman of KORA Awards Ernest Adjovi said, “everything
will take place on Sunday.”
Meanwhile, close sources reveals the delay is rather
due to problems organizers are facing instead of the reported delays in Chris’
flight.
He will arrive early
Sunday on a private jet and, ahead of the award show, will perform at concert
"for peace in Africa" at Abidjan's main sport stadium on Sunday,
Adjovi said.
Other artistes performing the night include P-Square, Chidinma, Meiway, Molare, Yode & Siro, Abou Nidal,
Claire Bahi and MIX 1er.
Over the past years
KORA has been attended by South africa’s Nelson Mandela and late pop star
Micahel Jackson.
KORA Awards was founded in 1994 by Ernest Adjovi and
named after the ‘kora’ – a West African plucked chordophone.
