Legon Fashion Week Set for October 8 – 12


All is set for the annual Legon Fashion Week (LFW) from Saturday, October 8 to Monday, October 12 at the University of Ghana, Legon.

The fashion exhibition is aimed at bringing together experienced and upcoming fashion designers, celebrated and aspiring models and fashion brands from the textiles, make-up, hair and clothing industry to inspire new ideas.

The week event which will unveil new talents and sell brands in the fashion industry in Ghana and beyond is expected to reach over 7000 audience and will be marked with a lot of activities including:

Exhibition
The exhibition starts from Monday 8th October to Friday 12th October at the forecourt of Mensah Sarbah Hall, University of Ghana, Legon from 10am to 10pm each day.

Fashion 101
Fashion 101 is a TV show which will be aired on campus to be shown on TV3. It is a show that analyses today’s fashion trends and give relevant information to viewers and the dos and don’ts of the fashion world. This is collaboration with TV3.

Seminars
Two educative seminars are expected to be held during the week. There will be the “Models’ Lounge” and the “Fashion Sense Seminars” which will be hosted by our partner model agency and a fashion house which will express interest in this event.

Fashion Show Extravaganza

A fashion show will be staged for models to show case the handy works of the various fashion designers, bead makers and shoe makers who will participate in this event. The fashion show will host musicians to entertain guests.

In all, 20 designers are expected to show case their creativity and ingenuity. 10 will be experienced and well known designers both from Ghana and abroad. 10 designers will be young and upcoming cloth designers who show promise through their hard work and innovations.

LFW is opened to all in the fashion industry to showcase their fashion accessories, amazing shoes and jewelry.
